Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, recently hosted Afghan refugees at a Thanksgiving dinner in Southern California, as reports circulate about a “professional separation” from her husband, Prince Harry.

The dinner was organised through the Southern California Welcome Project in collaboration with the Archewell Foundation, and Mina’s List, which supports Afghan women resettled in the United States.

This solo engagement comes when Meghan and Harry are reportedly pursuing individual projects as the couple have not been seen attending events together recently.

Meghan has been focusing on her passion for empowering women and community building, as seen in this latest event, while Harry continues his work on projects like the Invictus Games and mental health advocacy.

The Archewell Foundation, in their statement, said the intimate gathering, held at Our Place, was designed to foster community through storytelling and cultural exchange, with participants reflecting on resilience and gratitude.

Meghan expressed admiration for the women’s courage and underscored her excitement for future initiatives to deepen these connections.

The evening also included cookware gifts for the attendees, a gesture reinforcing Meghan’s dedication to uplifting women during the holiday season.

Mrs Markle and  Mr Harry have not publicly addressed the reports of their professional split.
