Education ministry received 90,000 TVET applications in one week: Alausa

Education minister Tunji Alausa has revealed that more than 90,000 applications have been received for the Technical and Vocational Education Training.
Mr Alausa said the applications were received less than a week after the portal for the initiative was launched.
Mr Alausa stated this via his X handle on Tuesday, describing the development as an incredible show of interest in skills development across Nigeria. He said the ministry was thrilled by the overwhelming response to the TVET initiative with the number of applications.
The minister encouraged applicants to ensure the names on their BVN and NIN match to avoid delays in submission while assuring Nigerians that the government was working to resolve other issues encountered by applicants.
The TVET initiative was officially inaugurated on May 30 to empower youths with industry-relevant skills for self-reliance and increase their employability.
The website for registering with Vocational Enterprise Institutes and Skills Training Centres is http://TVET.education.gov.ng.
