Easter: Police assure Osun residents of adequate security

The police command in Osun has assured residents of the state of adequate security, before, during and after the Easter celebration.
DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, the command’s spokesperson, said this in a statement on Wednesday in Osogbo.
Mr Ojelabi said that personnel and all necessary logistics had been deployed to strategic points to secure the lives and properties of residents.
“The command in its quest to continuously improve on the security in the state has intensified arrangements to ensure that this year’s Easter season is celebrated peacefully.
“This announcement is to reassure the good people of the State about the readiness and level of preparedness of State Command to guarantee adequate and intensive security during this period and beyond.
“CP Mohammed Abba has ordered effective and extensive deployment of policemen as well as all necessary logistics to strategic points on highways, worship centres, leisure parks and all nooks and crannies of the state.
“In view of this, miscreants/hoodlums and other criminal elements are put on notice that the Police will not condone any act that will truncate the peace of the state as anyone found wanting will face the consequences of relevant laws.
“Finally, the Commissioner of Police, while congratulating the Christian faithful, further appeals to members of the public to always give prompt and credible information in order to prevent acts of lawlessness and all infractions of the law,” Mr Ojelabi said.
