Easter: AIG Zone 2 assures Lagos, Ogun residents of adequate security

The police boss enjoined youths  in both states to be law -abiding, maintain peace and order during the celebrations.

The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in-charge of Zone 2 Command, Adegoke Fayoade, has assured residents of Lagos and Ogun States of adequate security during Easter celebrations.

Mt Fayoade gave the assurance in a statement signed by the zonal public relations officer, CSP Umma Ayuba, on Friday in Lagos.

The AIG charged the commissioners of police in-charge of the states to beef up security in their states.

“Ensure watertight security and deployment of Tactical Units around Shagamu Interchange, OPIC Long-Bridge, Badagry Expressway, worship centers, shopping malls, tourist centers, market places, commercial centers, social gatherings, residential areas, highways, motor parks and garages,

“Also ,beef up security in relaxation centers, train stations and bus terminals, critical national assets as well as government and private-owned property within their areas of jurisdictions and ensure free-flow of traffic during the Easter celebrations, ” he said.

The police boss enjoined youths  in both states to be law -abiding, maintain peace and order during the celebrations.

Mr Fayoade, while extending greetings to all Christian faithful, urged the  public to go about their celebrations without fear of violence or harassment.

He also solicited residents’ collaboration with  police towards peaceful celebrations.
