Court acquits ex-Ekiti governor Fayose of money laundering charges

The Federal High Court, Lagos Division, on Wednesday, discharged and acquitted former Governor Ayodele Fayose of all the charges of money laundering brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke upheld Mr Fayose’s no-case submission on the ground that the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case against him to warrant his defense.
Mr Fayose had been standing trial on allegations of money laundering and fraud during his tenure as governor of Ekiti.
