Man, 42, arraigned for allegedly stealing mobile phones

A 42-year-old man, Taiwo Hammed, was on Wednesday arraigned in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly stealing mobile phones.
Hammed, whose address was not provided, was charged with conspiracy and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Cpl Helen Ojo, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on July 12 at about 4.30 p.m at Ring Road Area of Ibadan.
Ms Ojo alleged that the defendant and others at large, stole a mobile phone worth N130,000, belonging to one Timothy Akinwale.
The prosecutor alleged that the defendant also stole another Tecno mobile phone worth N90,000, belonging to one Gabriel Taiwo.
She said the offences contravened Sections 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, M.M. Olagbenro, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 and two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until September 22 for hearing.
