Yusuf Liman emerges Kaduna Assembly speaker

On Tuesday, the Kaduna House of Assembly unanimously endorsed Yusuf Liman as the speaker of the 10th assembly.
During the house’s inaugural sitting, the assembly clerk, Sakinatu Hassan, announced the members’ decision.
Munirat Tanimu, representing Lere East, moved a motion to elect Mr Liman as the speaker and was seconded by Salisu Dandada Bala of the Igabi East constituency.
After that, the 32 assembly members endorsed the nomination of Mr Liman, who represents the Makera constituency.
The members also unanimously endorsed Henry Magaji, representing the Kagarko constituency, as the deputy speaker of the house.
The Kaduna parliament has 22 members from the All Progressives Congress and 12 from the Peoples Democratic Party.
