Xmas: FRSC deploys 1,254 officers in Osun

The Federal Road Safety Corps, Osun Command, has deployed 1254 officers comprised of both regular and special marshals for the yuletide in the state.
Taofeeq Sokumbi, the state’s sector commander, made this known in an interview on Tuesday in Osogbo.
Mr Sokumbi said officers deployed would be positioned at strategic locations in the state during the Christmas and New Year celebrations to ensure the safety of lives and property.
He said that patrol vehicles, with the command’s tow van, would also be placed on standby to ensure motorists complied with safety ordinances in the state.
According to him, the command will not hesitate to deal with road users that violate the safety laws when apprehended.
“We are advising motorists to be conscious about the way they use the highways during and after the Yuletide.
”They should embrace a defensive style of driving and reduce speeding to prevent any form of dangerous happening,” Mr Sokumbi said.
He further called on stakeholders to join hands with the command to ensure zero accidents in the state, especially in the festive period.
Mr Sokumbi said the command was in partnership with sister security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property in the state.
