Xmas: EEDC assures South-Easterners of regular power supply

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) says it has put adequate measures in place to deliver regular power supply during the Christmas holiday and beyond in the South-East.
The head of corporate communications of the company, Emeka Ezeh, made the promise in a statement in Enugu on Tuesday.
Mr Ezeh advised electricity consumers to avoid unsafe acts, such as fireworks and indiscriminate bush burning, that could result in electrical accidents or fire.
According to the statement, the company has put in measures to ensure the timely clearing of faults during festivities.
“We are concerned about the well-being of our customers and feel that, at this festive period, there is a need to exercise caution, especially considering that we are now in the dry season.
“Consequently, in case of service failure or fault, customers should report through our 24/7 call centre by dialling 02084700100.
“EEDC remains committed to ensuring a better and more enjoyable customer experience in the coming year,” he stated.
The EEDC spokesman thanked the company’s customers “for their support and understanding throughout the year.”
“There is no way we would have made it without the support of our customers, and we do not take it for granted,” he added.
