Women societies’ council advises Nigerians to bridge ethnic, religious divides

National President, National Council for Women Societies, Lami Adamu-Lau, has urged Nigerians to bridge ethno-religious divides and embrace the spirit of reconciliation.
Ms Adamu-Lau made the call in her Easter message on Sunday in Abuja.
She noted the significance of Easter celebration, stressing the need to imbibe the values to build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
She added, “This Easter, let us rededicate ourselves to the values Easter embodies, which is love, compassion, forgiveness, and service to others. Let us strive to build bridges across ethnic and religious divides, and work together for a more peaceful, prosperous, and just Nigeria.’’
The NCWS national president also encouraged women to reflect on the strength and resilience they possessed to make a positive impact in the society.
“Let us draw inspiration from the story of the women who followed Jesus to the cross and were the first witnesses to his resurrection,” she said.
Ms Adamu-Lau also encouraged Nigerians to reach out to the less-privileged and those in need to share the blessings of the season.
