The United States has promised to supply Ukraine with more weapons, around $800 million, including artillery, armoured vehicles and helicopters.

“The Ukrainian military has used the weapons we are providing to devastating effect,” said U.S. President Joe Biden after talks with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky.

“As Russia prepares to intensify its attack in the Donbas region, the United States will continue to provide Ukraine with the capabilities to defend itself,” he added, referring to a recent announcement from Russia.

In addition to the weapons already supplied, Ukraine would receive additional capabilities, including artillery systems and armoured vehicles, the White House said.

Ukraine is also to receive additional helicopters, the U.S. had last confirmed the delivery of helicopters before the war.
