Two suspects have been arrested for allegedly killing a female tricycle rider and stealing her tricycle at Afrancho, near Konkoli, in the Tredie District area of Ghana.

The Ghana Police Service disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, saying the suspects were arrested on Friday at Hansua in the Bono East Region.

The suspects were identified as Peter Nchor Asadigina, 21, and Mudasel Dramani, 19, following a tip-off.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects allegedly hired the services of the deceased from Ampabame Lorry Station in Kumasi on 29th October 2026, to transport them to Afrancho,” the statement read.

It said the suspects allegedly attacked and killed her before making away with her green Bajaj tricycle.

“The suspects were subsequently arrested while travelling towards Techiman, reportedly with the intention of relocating and using the stolen tricycle for commercial activities,” it explained.

The police said a search conducted on the suspects led to the recovery of a number plate bearing registration number M-26-AE 2047, as well as eight mobile phones, including an iPhone 12 Pro suspected to belong to the deceased.

Other items recovered included three SIM cards, one MTN MiFi device, a bunch of keys, two lighters and a jackknife cover.

According to the police, the body of the deceased had been deposited at the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

It added that the suspects were currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
