Troop busts IED factory in Kaduna, dislodge bandits

A notorious bandit camp where Improvised Explosive Devices are manufactured have been raided by troops of the Nigerian military.
Found during the raid on the hideout located in the Rafin Dawa area of Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State were 27 bags of fertiliser and batteries.
This was disclosed by Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs on Thursday.
He said the camp belonged to notorious bandit, Lawal Kwalba.
Mr Aruwan said the clearance operation by the troops of Operation Forest Sanity was a “further inroads in the on-going campaign against terrorists and bandits across Kaduna State.”
“These materials indicate likely plans to manufacture Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) considering the bandit’s close alliance with terrorists,’’ he stated.
Mr Aruwan added that one motorcycle and two mobile phones were recovered as bandits took to their heels before troops’ arrival.
“Troops extended the search a short distance from the camp and made some arrests. Investigations are on-going on the intercepted suspects.
“The Kaduna State government received the report with satisfaction, and praised the sustained efforts by officers and men carrying out the operations,” Mr Aruwan stressed.
