Mts Tinubu presented the cheque to the victims on Thursday at Mashegu Local Government Area of the state.
Recall that an explosion occurred in Sabon Pegi, Mashegu Local Government Area, on January 26, with three people reported killed and several others injured.
Mrs Tinubu, during a sympathy visit to the state governor, Mohammed Bago, announced a donation of N100 million to the victims.
Represented by the wife of the governor, Fatima Bago, the first lady said that the donation was aimed at providing succour to the victims.
”The money is for the community especially affected by the disaster,” she said.
She emphasised the need to embark on sensitisation campaign to educate parents on the risks involved in illegal mining.
According to her, many parents are unaware that the dangers of illegal mining outweigh its benefits.
The first lady added that she would collaborate with the ministries of women affairs and that of humanitarian affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, to create awareness on the dangers of illegal mining using various media platforms.
