Tinubu tone deaf, his ‘deficit policy direction, insensibility’ fuelling hunger, hardship protests: Governor Fintiri

President Bola Tinubu’s “deficit policy direction” and “insensibility” are fuelling ongoing nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests and aggravating the hardship ordinary Nigerians endure daily.
This is the verdict of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa in a statewide broadcast.
Mr Fintiri adjudged the president of being tone deaf.
“The protest might be unpopular, especially because of the way it was carried out in some states. But the message is clear and the demands are genuine.
“None of us can deny the fact that there’s hunger and general poverty in the land. This has been made worse by the harsh economic realities, a deficit policy direction and insensibility of the national government to engage the citizens.
“As leaders of the people, we must at all times, not only listen, but act. The lessons we must drive from the protest is a constant reminder that it is not enough to tell the citizens we have heard, we must be seen as doing the needful in providing solutions to citizens’ concerns,” Mr Fintiri stated.
The governor stressed that some of the protesters’ demands, which he considers as genuine, “are micro-economic policies, issues that can only be addressed by the national government. This is the reality of our federal structure and constitution.”
