Tinubu congratulates media professional, Azu Ishiekwene, at 60

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday congratulated Senior Vice chairman/Editor-in-Chief of Leadership Newspapers, Azubuike Ishiekwene, on his 60th birthday.
Mr Tinubu appreciated Mr Ishiekwene’s brilliant and incisive commentary and analysis on Nigeria’s politics, the economy, and society, the president’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, said in a statement.
He noted that Mr Ishiekwene’s insightful contributions and recent writings on digital media had earned him wide recognition and admiration, even from those who may not readily agree with his views.
Mr Tinubu commended Ishiekwene’s contributions to developing the Nigerian media landscape, and prayed to God to grant him good health and fulfilment in all his endeavours.
Mr Ishiekwene is a fellow of the Nigerian Guild of Editors and has had a career in journalism spanning over three decades.
He worked with several media organisations, including The PUNCH, where he was a columnist and editorial board member; ThisDay as editor and later the deputy managing director; and Leadership, where he currently serves as the Group Managing Director.
