Suspended Ogun monarch arraigned, granted bail after assaulting elderly man

The suspended Olorile of Orile Ifo, Oba Abdulsemiu Ogunjobi, was on Tuesday, granted bail, after he was arraigned in court for assaulting an elderly man, Oloye Areola Abraham, in Ogun State.
Disclosing this in a statement, Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the case has however been adjourned until March 3, 2025.
Mr Adejobi said, “The Kabiyesi Abdulsemiu Ogunjobi, who assaulted one elderly man in a viral video, in Ifo Ogun State has been charged to court today February4, 2025, on three-count charge of conspiracy, assault and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.’’.
He stated, “He was granted bail while the case was adjourned to 06/03/2025. The police will continue to uphold the rule of law and the core values of the noble profession.’’
The traditional ruler who claimed to be in control of the police, was seen in a viral video, assaulting, raining curses and threatening to kill or jail the elderly man who was heard saying he was unwell.
Expressing disgust at the action of the monarch, the Ogun State Government suspended him for six months for “uncivil conduct.’’
