Vice President Kashim Shettima has pledged support for the Naija Creates project.

Mr Shettima offered his support during a courtesy visit by the Chief Executive Officer of Ebony Life Group, Mo Abudu, to the presidential villa, Abuja, on Tuesday.

The vice president, who assured that his office would support the project in all its ramifications, added that all hands must be on deck for the nation’s economy to be transformed.

According to him, Naija Creates, an enterprise championed by Ms Abudu, has the potential to be Nigeria’s flagship cultural diplomacy initiative.

He added that the project would project the country through tourism, arts, music, fashion, and others on the global stage.

He commended Ms Abudu for her efforts and contributions to the development of the entertainment industry in Nigeria.

The vice president noted that there were a lot of positives about the country that should be exported to the international community.

Mr Shettima described the Naija Creates project as an avenue to promote the President Bola Tinubu administration’s economic diversification agenda.

The vice president said the programme should be Nigeria’s collective effort to showcase the country’s potential in the creative sector.

He also invited Ms Abudu to join the federal government’s Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDICE) team and deploy her expertise to help actualise the administration’s goals in the technology and creative sectors.

Earlier, Ms Abudu said Naija Creates was an initiative that would help export and celebrate excellence in Nigeria’s creative sector, comprising film, arts, food, music, and fashion, among others.

She explained that through the project, a safe space would be provided to kickstart the process of exporting to the global stage the numerous creative talents in Nigeria.

Ms Abudu solicited the support and partnership of the federal government, through its agencies and collaborators, to ensure the actualisation of the initiative.

She said in the summer of 2025, the Naija Creates initiative would debut in the United Kingdom, showcasing the various talents in food, music, film, fashion, and the arts.
