Sanwo-Olu congratulates Ashafa at 70, hails his contributions to growth of Lagos

The governor commended the senator for being a good ambassador of Lagos State at the national level.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Senator Gbenga Ashafa, on his 70th birthday.

Mr Sanwo-Olu in a statement on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, described the senator as a committed public servant whose life has positively impacted the people at the state and national levels.

The governor praised Mr Ashafa’s passionate service to Lagos State as director of planning, Governor’s Office; executive secretary, Lagos State Land Use and Allocation Committee; and permanent secretary, Lagos State Lands Bureau.

He said, “On behalf of my family, the people and government of Lagos state, I congratulate Ashafa, on his 70th birthday. We are proud to celebrate and associate with Ashafa on his 70th birthday. His commitment, service and contributions to the growth and development of Lagos State as a civil servant, politician and federal lawmaker are well noted in the history of our dear state.”

The governor also commended the senator for being a good ambassador of Lagos State at the national level during his tenure as member of the Senate.

“He represented Lagos East very well and made remarkable contributions toward the progress of Nigeria as a member of the seventh and eighth senate. As Ashafa joins the league of septuagenarians today, I wish him a long life in good health and prosperity. God will give him more strength and wisdom as he continues serving humanity and our dear country, Nigeria,” Mr Sanwo-Olu stated.
