Russia, Ukraine fresh overnight drone strikes leave many injured

Russia and Ukraine conducted fresh drone attacks overnight, resulting in injuries and significant damage across multiple regions, according to officials from both sides.
In Ukraine, authorities reported strikes in several areas. In the city of Dnipro, 15 people were injured, and 15 private homes, along with several multi-storey residential and commercial buildings, were damaged, according to regional Governor Serhiy Lysak.
In the Donetsk region, Governor Vadym Filashkin reported five injuries from Russian attacks across various communities.
In the north-eastern city of Kharkiv, two people were wounded in a large-scale drone attack, which caused fires and damage to shops and residential buildings.
Russia’s Ministry of Defence claimed to have intercepted 158 Ukrainian drones overnight, though the extent of any damage was not specified. In the Orenburg region near Kazakhstan, a military airfield was reportedly targeted, but no casualties or damage were reported.
Russian Telegram channels also claimed attacks on the Mozdok and Engels airbases, but these reports could not be independently verified.
In response to security concerns, Russian airports temporarily closed overnight, with take-offs and landings suspended at airports in Volgograd, Saratov, Ulyanovsk, Vladikavkaz, and Grozny. These restrictions have become a common occurrence amid ongoing Ukrainian drone attacks.
