Reps’ deputy speaker flays killings in Plateau, demand arrest of gunmen

The Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu has condemned the recent killings in Plateau State by gunmen.
Suspected gunmen recently invaded Ruwi, Hurti, and Tadai communities in the Bokkos Local Government Area of the state.
They also stormed Manguna and Dafo villages, launching brutal attacks on many homes and families.
Mr Kalu’s condemnation of the attacks is contained in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Speaker, Levinus Nwabughiogu, in Abuja on Sunday.
Mr Kalu expressed deep concern and outrage over the attacks, emphasising that such wanton killings and bloodletting were unacceptable and should be condemned by every patriotic Nigerian.
He, however, welcomed President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to apprehending the perpetrators and bringing them to justice.
Mr Kalu assured Mr Tinubu of the parliament’s unwavering support in the endeavour.
The deputy speaker extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, Governor Calab Mutfwang, and the entire people of Plateau State over the unhealthy development.
He urged the National Emergency Management Agency and other relevant agencies of government to urgently provide relief items to those affected by the attacks.
Mr Kalu also emphasised the need for swift action to alleviate the suffering of the victims.
