Police summon officers to Abuja for assaulting suspect in Delta

The Nigeria Police Force has identified and summoned some operatives of the Delta State Police Command, to the Force Headquarters, Abuja, for assaulting a suspect in Agbor, Delta State.
One @ChuksEricE in a video shared on X on Saturday, with the caption, “Between Nigeria Police officers and a young man in Agbor, Delta State,” showed the officers assaulting the suspect while forcing him into a patrol van.
“The men have been identified, and the CP has summoned them to the headquarters,” said the command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, in a statement on Sunday.
“Gone are those days when brutality and incivility go unchecked. Those who assaulted him will be used as an example as directed by the CP,” Mr Edafe added.
The police spokesperson urged the public to assist in providing the victim’s contact for further investigation.
