Police nab 15 hoodlums in Niger for various crimes

The police command in Niger, on Wednesday, said it has arrested 15 miscreants and hoodlums in Minna for various offences.
A statement by the command’s public relations officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun in Minna, stated that they were arrested on April 21, at about 01.45 a.m.
He said that the arrest was in continuation of efforts of the command to eradicate thuggery in compliance with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Adamu Elleman.
Mr Abiodun said that the area commander, Minna, led police patrol teams along with DPO Chanchaga Division to Shango Area, and its environs in Chanchaga to effect the arrest.
According to him, two cutlasses, one sickle, one knife, one scissor, six sticks, cannabis and other illicit drugs were recovered from them.
“All suspects are under investigation and will be prosecuted accordingly immediately after the investigation.
“The commissioner of police assured of his commitment to sanitise and stamp out thuggery in Minna metropolis for economic advancement in line with the vision of New Niger.”
