Police hunt killers of ex-Bauchi APC women leader

The Bauchi State police command has begun an investigation into the suspected murder of a former women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
The deceased, identified as Ms Jemimah, was reportedly killed on Saturday at about 2:07 p.m. after a 49-year-old man, Mu’azu, reported at the ‘E’ Division that her lifeless was found in a pool of blood.
In a statement on Sunday, the command’s spokesperson, Nafiu Habib, said the deceased was found at her residence in Mu’azu New Layout, Yelwa, with her throat slit by a yet-to-be-identified assailant(s).
“Upon receipt of the report, detectives attached to ‘E’ Division promptly visited the scene, documented it, and evacuated the body to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, for medical examination and autopsy,” he said.
The state commissioner of police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, directed the immediate transfer of the case to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet and thorough investigation.
The police said the investigation was aimed at unraveling the circumstances surrounding her death and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
The command commiserated with the family, friends and political associates of the deceased and assured the public that no stone would be left unturned to ensure justice.
