Police deploy operatives for hitch-free eid celebration in Benue

The police command in Benue State has deployed operatives to some strategic locations across the state to ensure a hitch-free eid-el-fitr celebration.
The command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sewuese Anene, announced the deployment in a statement to journalists on Sunday in Makurdi.
Ms Anene said that the Commissioner of Police (CP), Steve Yabanet, ordered the deployment to ensure peaceful celebration.
The CP ordered all area commanders, divisional police officers and tactical commanders to provide watertight security within their areas of responsibility.
She said, “They are to pay particular attention to prayer grounds, recreational centres, markets, motor parks, and other public places where large gatherings are expected. Criminals are by this notice warned to desist from perpetuating crime or face the wrath of the law when arrested. The CP wishes all Muslim faithful a peaceful eid-el-fitr celebration.’’
