Police arrest suspect three months after alleged murder in Bauchi

The police command in Bauchi State has arrested a principal suspect in the alleged murder of one Rilwanu Dauda in Karofin Madaki area of the state.
The command’s spokesman, Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, saying the suspect attacked the deceased at about 9:30 a.m. on July 5.
He stated that the deceased resided in Karofi and was attacked and fatally stabbed with a knife by Abdulrazak Sale, alias Abba Sale, Police, 24, of Karofin Madaki, and his gang members.
“The victim was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, where he was certified dead by a medical doctor at about 1100hrs of the same day,” he said.
Mr Habib noted that since the incident, the command sustained unrelenting efforts and placed the fleeing suspects on its watchlist.
The police added that the suspects had previously been linked to a politically motivated murder in the same area before disappearing.
“Acting on credible intelligence from a Good Samaritan, operatives attached to ‘A’ Division, Township, swung into action and on 5th October, 2026, exactly three months after the heinous crime, successfully arrested the principal suspect, Abdulrazak Sale Kundang,” he said.
He added that efforts were being intensified to arrest the remaining accomplices who are currently at large.
