Plateau govt. trains civil servants in office procedures, service delivery

The Plateau government has organised a three-day training for civil servants on routine office procedures for efficient service delivery.
Declaring the training open on Monday in Jos, Samuel Jatau, the secretary to the state government, described the exercise as apt.
Mr Jatau expressed the state government’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of its workforce and promised regular training and retraining for optimal performance.
“Routine office procedures may seem basic, but they are the foundation of every successful administration; they guide our documentation, communication, file management, reporting, and service delivery processes.
“Without a clear understanding and consistent application of these procedures, even the best policies may falter at the implementation stage.
“This workshop is, therefore, designed not just as a refresher course but as a capacity-building forum to enhance your skills, sharpen your knowledge, and reinforce a culture of excellence, discipline, and accountability in our public service,” he said.
The SSG said the current administration is committed to serving the people with integrity and vision.
He added that the administration is also determined to build a result-driven and people-oriented civil service that would serve as a model for other states.
Mr Jatau called on workers to support the administration in succeeding and advised them to take advantage of technology to enhance their knowledge.
Earlier, Stephen Godongs, the head of the civil service (HoS), said the training was organised to promote sanity, efficiency, and effectiveness within the state’s civil service.
