About 2,238,360 Mongolian citizens are eligible to vote in Mongolia’s upcoming parliamentary elections, the country’s General Authority for State Registration announced on Tuesday.

According to the authority, nearly half of all voters fall within the age range of 26 to 45 years old.

Meanwhile, voters aged 18 to 25 comprise 15.8 per cent of the total voter population, the smallest demographic among the age groups.

Mongolia, with a population of 3.5 million, has scheduled June 28 as the date for its next elections of the State Great Khural, the country’s unicameral parliament.

In May 2023, the parliament passed amendments to increase the number of legislators from 76 to 126 in the country’s constitution.

Additionally, parliament members will be elected using a mixed electoral system, with 78 members elected by majority representation and 48 by proportional representation.
