Governor Caleb Mutfwang has removed Plateau from shame and restored the state to its lost glory, says Peter Nyam-Gai, the commissioner for land, survey and town planning.

Mr Nyam-Gai said this in an interview with journalists on Tuesday in Jos while presenting Mr Mutfwang’s scorecard for the past year in the land and survey, as well as other sectors.

“The governor has done well. He has removed Plateau state from shame. He has put in projects that people least expected; the governor has invested,” said Mr Nyam-Gai.

The commissioner further expressed great faith in the governor’s capability to help Plateau overcome its challenges and achieve greater heights.

Mr Nyam-Gai added, “The governor has given Plateau state and its people a good image. If you go around Jos, you will see the operation zero potholes. You will discover that he has done significantly fantastic, and you will hardly find any potholes within Jos metropolis.

“Virtually all the bad areas have been repaired; newly tarred roads are coming up in those spots. In the area of urban upgrade, there are areas within Jos that are bad. All those have been revamped and linked to major highways.”

The commissioner added, “In the area of transportation, you will recall that just recently, about 15 state-of-the-art buses were deployed to move people within the greater Jos Master Plan.

“I am also aware that the rail system will soon start working. Also, the governor has entered into new partnerships with some airlines, including Value Jet and Arik; at least the two gateways are now functional on the plateau.”

Similarly, in the areas of agriculture, security, education, health, and others, the commissioner emphasised Mr Mutfwang’s uncommon achievements within a short period of time, in spite of the legal battles he had to face initially.
