Osun police nab man for allegedly defiling 15-year-old girl

The police command in Osun has arrested a 45-year-old man for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old girl in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area of the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by the spokesperson for the command, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, on Wednesday in Osogbo.
Mr Ojelabi explained that the suspect, who is a friend of the victim’s grandmother, used his closeness to the family to perpetrate the act.
“Sometimes in September, the suspect asked the victim to help him buy some items and when she got to his house, he dragged her inside his room and had canal knowledge of her.
“Furthermore, on Oct. 2, being the victim’s birthday, the suspect gave her N1,000 as birthday gift, then demanded she gifted him too for her birthday.
“When the victim went to buy him some biscuit, the suspect dragged her into a nearby bush and had canal knowledge of her again.
“When the suspect noticed that people had already seen them, he took to his heels.
“The passers-by met the victim and asked her what he did to her, which she explained to them before they went after the suspect, arrested him and handed him over to the police,” Ojelabi said.
In another development, Ojelabi said six suspected cult members were arrested at black spots in Osogbo on Oct. 8.
He said the suspects had been charged to court.
He added that the command would continue to intensify intelligence gathering and tactical operations to identify, apprehend and prosecute individuals involved in cultism, drug-related offences and other criminal activities.
