Ondo assembly confirms receiving Gov Akeredolu’s letter transferring power to Aiyedatiwa

On Wednesday, the Ondo House of Assembly confirmed receipt of a letter from Governor Rotimi Akeredolu requesting to proceed on medical leave in Germany.
Olamide Oladiji, the parliament speaker, said this in a statement.
Mr Oladiji explained that the governor’s action was in line with Section 190 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
According to the speaker, Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa will act as the governor.
He said the letter stipulated that the leave would commence on December 13.
Mr Oladiji expressed optimism that the governor would soon resume his duties.
Mr Akeredolu had, in July, similarly written to the legislative to request medical leave and returned to the country on September 7.
