NTI’s focus on e-facilitation bold, says education minister

The Minister of Education, Morufu Alausa, has commended the National Teachers’ Institute, Kaduna, for its proactive steps towards strengthening teacher education in Nigeria.
The minister also described the institute’s focus on e-facilitation as bold and commendable to the call for digital transformation in education.
Mr Alausa made the commendation on Tuesday while declaring the NTI’s 2nd Annual National Conference in Kaduna open.
“I applaud the National Teachers’ Institute’s leadership and dedication to working tirelessly to build a teacher workforce that is resilient, resourceful, and ready to inspire the next generation of Nigerian learners,” Mr Alausa said.
He added, “It speaks directly to the need for our education system to keep pace with technological advancements and harness these tools to improve learning outcomes across Nigeria.”
NTI’s director-general, Musa Garba-Maitafsir, said the institute was into blended delivery, ”e-facilitation and face-to-face contact.
He, however, decried that previously, the institute was a mere administration outfit despite being the largest teacher institute in the world.
Mr Musa-Maitafsir said the country needed conventional and aesthetic writing skills, saying, “Technology has come to stay, and NTI is trying to live to international standards.”
Governor Uba Sani commended NTI for its bold, innovative strategy.
Mr Sani also extolled Musa-Maitafsir’s transformation of NTI into a digital institute.
