President  Bola Tinubu on Saturday said Nigerians “must” turn out massively to elect him in the January 16, 2027, presidential election, adding it is not a matter of hunger or anger.

Mr Tinubu, at his presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna, berated the opposition as failures who have nothing to offer Nigerians.

“This is not a matter of hunger. This is not a matter of anger either. Our opponents are angry because they are failures. They have nothing to offer you but heckling. We have prosperity, consistency, growth, recovery, and opportunities. I assure you,” Mr Tinubu said.

He added, “It is a promise. Come January 16, 2027, you must go out massively to elect me again. APC all the way, APC for our governors, APC for our senators, APC for our House Representatives, and all House Assembly.”

In his speech, Mr Tinubu blamed the opposition for plunging Nigerians into hunger and poverty, claiming his government is fixing the problem.

Meanwhile, opposition figure Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Party has repeatedly berated Mr Tinubu’s administration for plunging Nigeria into an unprecedented cost-of-living crisis, promising to make life affordable for Nigerians.

Mr Abubakar has anchored his campaign on the restoration of the fuel subsidy for locally produced fuel, promising Nigerians a lower cost of living if elected.
