Man, 39, bags three-month jail term for disobeying court order

An Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court in Osun State on Thursday sentenced one Adebayo Adejogunola, 39, to three months imprisonment for disobeying court order.
The Magistrate, Dr Olusegun Ayilara, gave the judgement that the convict be kept behind bars due to the magnitude of the offence.
The state Prosecuting Counsel, Adekunle Adeniyi, said the convict failed to appear in court to attend to his case involving a fraud of N9,657,925.
He said that the convict defrauded one Akanbi Kayode of 36 tons (445kg) of maize sold at the rate of N265 valued at N9,657,925 .
Mr Adeniyi said the convict jumped bail granted to him and failed to appear in court for five consecutive times.
According to him, the convict failed to appear on May 14, May 30, September 3, October 24 and October 29, 2024.
He said the offence committed contravened section 133(9) of the Criminal Code cap 34 Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2002.
