LWC completes Iju-Adiyan water project, urges Ikoyi residents to prepare for six-day scarcity

The Lagos Water Corporation has completed phase 1 of the Iju, Adiyan rehabilitation water project, with the authorities saying water production has resumed.
The LWC Managing Director, Mukhtaar Tijani, made this known in a statement on Saturday in Lagos.
The statement was signed by the Deputy Director, Public Affairs, Kehinde Fashola.
He said the LWC had resumed production at Iju and Adiyan Water Treatment Plants following the successful completion of Phase 1 of the rehabilitation project.
He stated, “LWC is pleased to announce the restart of production at its major waterworks in Iju and Adiyan, following the success of its ongoing rehabilitation efforts. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by recent water supply disruptions and appreciate the patience and understanding of our valued customers. With the completion of the first phase of the rehabilitation of Iju and Adiyan waterworks, we remain committed to delivering reliable and quality water services to meet the needs of Lagos residents.’’
He stated that the corporation was prepared to serve the residents diligently and effectively.
He added, “This is part of the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu theme plus agenda to cater for the people of Lagos by ensuring adequate water supply to the people of the state. He, however, said the residents in Alexander, Bourdillon, and Parkview of the Ikoyi area would experience temporary water shortage from November 18 to November 23. This is to enable the contractor to execute some critical component of the rehabilitation work that is currently ongoing in the Alexander Mini Waterworks.”
Mr Tijani also pleaded with the residents of the state to support the efforts of LWC by reporting any leakages on the pipelines, to enable prompt repairs.
He said, “This is our corporation’s customer care lines, 07045973012 and 07045973013.”
He implored the residents to report issues or complaints by calling the customer care lines or visiting any of the nearest zonal offices.
