An Ilorin-based legal practitioner, Olusegun Adeoye, on Saturday said there was now an urgent need for government to invest more in the education sector.

Mr Adeoye told the journalists) that this need was essential as investing in education will grow the country’s economy.

He added that the education system in the country deserves special attention in order to produce quality graduates who would help in putting the country on the right path.

“Governments at all levels should prioritise the education sector. They should invest in education and they will consequently witness a significant turnaround in the country’s economy.

“When we have standard education in place, we will see a better reflection on the economy generally.

“Education in Nigeria needs adequate funding. We need Science equipment, standard laboratories and first-class infrastructure in our learning environment.

“Governments should also invest in the teachers and as well ensure technology is in place to train the students,” the lawyer said.

Mr Adeoye also called on private investors to put their money in the education sector and not leave everything to government.
