Lawmaker seeks improved security tactics

Nicholas Ossai, a two-time member representing Ndokwa East/Ndokwa West/Ukwuani constituencies in the House of Representatives, has called for improved security tactics to address insecurity in the country effectively.
Mr Ossai made the call on Wednesday in Abuja on the occasion of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration.
He noted that only an uncompromising approach by security agencies could end insecurity in the country, adding that the nation’s armed forces have the capacity to round up bandits within a week if committed.
He urged the armed forces to collaborate with either community youths or unconventional security outfits in the fight against insurgency and banditry nationwide.
“While I commend the armed forces for their gallantry, I want them to improve on their tactics.
“They should replicate what Governor Mohammed Bago is doing in Niger by collaborating with community youths and unconventional security agencies to defeat insurgency,” he said.
