Late Iyalode of Yorubaland, Alaba Lawson, for burial Dec 8

The late Iyalode of Yorubaland, Alaba Lawson, will be buried on December 8, in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Media aide to the deceased, Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji, disclosed this in a statement in Abeokuta on Sunday.
Mrs Lawson,a renowned educationist and entrepreneur, died on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at her residence in Abeokuta.
Mr Kayode-Adedeji noted that the burial announcement followed a meeting by the family held on Sunday, adding that a committee had been inaugurated to finetune the programme of events.
He identified Sanya Abiola as head of the burial Central Planning Committee.
“While other members include himself as head media, Tayo Akintayo, Sesan Bankole and Akin Jiboku. The family meeting is chaired by Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi and other members of the Central Planning Committee include Akinola Lawson, Babalola Lawson, Oreoluwa Obey-Fabiyi and Taiwo Jiboku.
“The burial programme as concluded at the meeting indicated that December 1 to December has been designated for various groups, associations and professional bodies to celebrate the deceased. Service of song will hold on December 7 at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta,” he said.
Mr Kayode-Adedeji also said that the final burial would take place at St. James African Church, Idi-Ape, Abeokuta and followed with interment strictly for the family members of the late Iyalode of Yorubaland.
