Kwara Assembly extends tenure of acting auditor-general by six months

The State House of Assembly has extended the tenure of Tiamiyu Adeyemi, the acting auditor-general of Kwara state, for an additional six months.
This was sequel to a message on Tuesday from Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq titled “Request for Legislative Approval for Tenure Extension of Tiamiyu Adeyemi as Acting Auditor-General of the State”.
Mr Abdulrazaq said the extension was sought in line with Section 126, Sub-Section 3 of the Constitution and the powers conferred on the House of Assembly.
He said the request followed the state government’s inability to appoint a substantive auditor-general due to litigation in court over the termination of the appointment of the former auditor-general.
