The Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority (KADCHMA), on Wednesday, announced concluding the year with successful enrolment and biometric capture of 2,500 informal sector beneficiaries statewide during the completed December exercise.

The Director-General of KADCHMA, Abubakar Hassan, disclosed this during an interview with journalists in Kaduna, highlighting operational achievements and collaborative support that strengthened the state’s health insurance programme across the year.

Mr Hassan commended Governor Uba Sani’s leadership and administrative approach for revitalising healthcare facilities statewide, saying reforms significantly improved service delivery, efficiency, and patient confidence among residents across Kaduna State generally.

He noted remarkable progress in advocacy, sensitisation, and awareness creation, leveraging support from traditional and religious leaders, mainstream media, social media platforms, and diverse communication channels statewide throughout the reporting period.

According to him, sustained outreach efforts substantially contributed to impressive enrolment outcomes recorded at the close of the year, reflecting growing public trust in the Kaduna State Health Insurance Scheme initiative.

He explained that total enrolment achievements were made possible through generous support from charity foundations, philanthropists, organisations, families, and individuals committed to expanding health coverage for vulnerable residents across the state.

He said the enrolment breakdown included RIM Foundation 800 beneficiaries, Jennifer Etuh Foundation 1,000, New City Hospital Zaria 100, Lifidin Jama’a Charity Foundation 120, Caleb Danladi Foundation 300, and direct KADCHMA enrolments 180 beneficiaries.

The director-general expressed appreciation to charity foundations, philanthropists, organisations, families, and individuals for demonstrating confidence and trust in the Kaduna State Health Insurance Scheme and its people-centred objectives for statewide public health.

He reaffirmed that KADCHMA remained open to partnerships with philanthropists, groups, organisations, and individuals committed to improving health outcomes and strengthening equitable access to care across the state for all residents.

Mr Hassan urged political leaders and wealthy individuals to emulate those gestures by supporting healthcare initiatives delivering relief to less privileged citizens, emphasising KADCHMA’s mandate of affordable, quality, sustainable healthcare for everyone.
