Kaduna Fire Service saved N4.3 billion assets in 78 incidents in three months: Official

The Kaduna State Fire Service and Public Safety said it recorded 78 fire incidents across the state between April and June, resulting in losses worth over N1.3 billion.
The Director of the Service, Paul Aboi, made this known during an interview on Thursday in Kaduna.
Mr Aboi said the service however salvaged property valued at more than N4.3 billion in the second quarter of the year.
He said the agency responded to 35 fire calls in April, recording two deaths with three injured persons rescued.
According to him, property worth N688 million was destroyed in April, while assets estimated at N2.17 billion were saved.
The director noted that 21 incidents were recorded in May without casualties, but with losses put at N217 million, adding that property worth N791.6 million were salvaged.
He said that 22 outbreaks were reported in June, also without fatalities.
“Losses for the month were estimated at N449.5 million, while saved assets stood at over N1.3 billion,” he said.
Mr Aboi reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to prompt emergency responses, continued sensitisation, and sustained fire prevention campaigns.
He urged residents to comply with fire safety regulations to reduce avoidable losses, especially during the dry season.
