Ondo Gov. Akeredolu returns from medical trip after three months

Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo state, has returned to Nigeria from his medical trip, Peoples Gazette can report.
Mr Akeredolu returned three months after he travelled outside the country to attend to his health challenges.
A source in the government confirmed the return of the Ondo governor to The Gazette on Thursday afternoon.
“Yes, the governor (Aketi) is back in Nigeria. He’s presently in Ibadan at his private residence where he would be taking some rest. We are on our way to visit him as I speak,” the source, who pleaded not to be quoted, said.
It was further gathered that members of the cabinet were happy about the return of the governor from his medical trip.
A photograph of the governor on board a private aircraft was also posted by his wife, Betty Ayanwu Akeredolu, on Thursday.
Recall that Governor Akeredolu had left Nigeria for a 21-day leave and medical trip to Germany to attend to his fragile health.
The governor announced his decision to embark on the medical trip on June 7 with the expectation to return on July 6.
But his prolonged stay caused uproar and controversy in the state as members of the opposition parties demanded the true position of his health.
The criticism forced Mr Akeredolu to announce his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to take over and “act” in his absence.
