Seven suspected cable vandals nabbed in Kano: NSCDC

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested seven suspects for allegedly vandalising streetlight cables in Kano State.
In a statement on Thursday, the corps’ spokesman in Kano, Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi, said operatives arrested the suspects during a raid to rid the state of criminal elements vandalising critical national assets and infrastructure.
Mr Idris-Abdullahi said four suspects (names withheld) had been arrested for allegedly receiving 150mm stolen armoured cable in Dulu Mariri Quarters in Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state.
He said operatives deployed to Nasarawa Division apprehended three other suspects (names withheld) for alleged vandalism and theft of streetlight armoured cables at Tudun Murtala quarters in the Kano metropolis.
“Operatives of the corps are on the trail of two other suspects who are now at large,” he said.
According to him, the investigation has been completed, and the suspects would soon be charged to court.
