Gov. Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state has urged Muslim community to take inspiration from the virtues of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Maulud.

Mr Yahaya stated this in a statement by Isma’ila Misili, director-general of press affairs at the Government House in Gombe on Sunday.

The governor encouraged Muslims to embrace the Prophet’s qualities of tolerance, humility, modesty, and honesty in their everyday lives.

He emphasised the importance of reflecting on the Prophet’s teachings and integrating his legacy of unity, integrity, peaceful coexistence, and love for one’s neighbour.

“As we commemorate this momentous occasion, I urge you all to embody  the values that the noble messenger of Allah has left to humanity,” he said.

Mr Yahaya underscored the need for Nigerians to uphold these teachings as a foundation for national unity and progress.

According to him, the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) are essential in the pursuit of meaningful development and in the management of Nigeria’s diversity.

He called on Muslims to see the celebration of the Prophet’s birth as a time for spiritual renewal and a reminder for Nigerians to unite in prayer for peace.

He said that a shared faith in God and continued prayers for peace across the nation, would help realise the aspirations of Nigeria’s founding fathers.

The governor advised the citizens to remain law-abiding and safeguard the peace and tranquillity the state currently enjoys.
