Gov. Sule donates N25 million to ex-servicemen in Nasarawa

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, on Wednesday donated N25 million to support the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
The governor made the donation while launching the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem.
Mr Sule explained that the day was set aside every year to remember the falling heroes for the optimal sacrifices they had made to keep the country indivisible.
He used the occasion to commiserate with President Bola Tinubu, Nigeria Army, over the death of the Chief of Army Staff, Taoreed Lagbaja and prayed to God to give his soul eternal rest.
The governor promised to continue to give priority to the welfare of the falling heroes and their families.
He, therefore, directed government officials to support the ex-servicemen and continue to wear the 2025 emblem until the end of the celebration in January 2025.
The emblem was launched by the Nigerian Legion in collaboration with the Nasarawa State Ministry of Women and Social Development.
On her part, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Aisha Eufa’í-Ibrahim, said that the ministry would continue to support the wives and children of the fallen heroes to make their lives worthwhile.
She also called on spirited individuals and groups to support the families of the falling heroes, considering the supreme sacrifices they had made.
In his opening remarks, the state Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Col. Hamidu Almajiri (retd), said that the launch of the emblem was to remember their comrades and honour those still alive.
He explained that the legion had a responsibility to cater for the families of their fallen comrades and appealed for support from the government and well-meaning individuals.
He, therefore, decorated the governor with the remembrance emblem.
