The Anambra State Government has created more wifi in public places to grant access to free high-speed internet services to the people.

The Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Information Communication Technology (ICT) Agency, Angela Nwanodu, made the disclosure during an interview with journalists in Awka on Wednesday.

Ms Nwanodu said that granting internet access to more people was in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of “Everything Technology and Technology Everywhere.”

The agency’s spokesperson said Solution Wi-Fi had expanded with 14 additional locations across Anambra added to the connectivity.

She said that the project known as ‘Solution Wi-Fi Initiative’ was part of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) adopted to drive the digital revolution objective of the Soludo’s administration.

Ms Nwanodu said the Solution Wi-Fi Initiative was driven by the Anambra State ICT Agency in collaboration with Pine Heights Systems Limited (PHSWEB).

The Solution Wi-Fi Initiative was inaugurated in February this year with pilot at three strategic locations, including Aroma Junction, Book Foundation, and School Gate Ifite, all within Awka, the capital town.

She listed the new locations to include Eke Awka, ABS Bus Stand, Agulu, Ukwu Orji, Ada Jesus Lodge, Address Lodge, Bucon Lodge, and First Choice Lodge.

Others are Holy Family, Living Spring Lodge, Novena Lodge, Royal Villa Lodge, Rubez Lodge, and Solution Arena

She said the growth reflected the administration’s commitment to bridging the digital divide, giving students, businesses, and residents greater access to the online resources essential for learning, development, and economic empowerment.

According to her, the partnership accelerates digital infrastructure development, empowering Anambra to lead in technology inclusion while optimising resources and expertise.

She said, “Connectivity is now available to a broader population; Mr Governor envisions a state where internet access supports innovation, education, and economic growth because digital inclusion is fundamental for social progress. With each new location connected, the Solution Wi-Fi Initiative brings Anambra closer to a fully connected digital ecosystem. Anambra government and its partners Pine Heights Systems Limited (PHSWEB) are setting the stage for a future where technology fostered growth, learning, and opportunity.’’
