FRSC promises to continue campaign against speeding in 2024

The Ogun command of the Federal Road Safety Corps has reiterated its commitment to sustain an intensive campaign against speeding to stem road crashes in 2024.
Anthony Uga, its sector commander, said on Wednesday in Ota that speed had been one of the major causes of death along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and other parts of Ogun.
Mr Uga implored the motoring public to drive according to the extant rules and regulations guarding FRSC to minimise tragedy in 2024.
“We are going to sustain mobile speed control patrol and also sustain traffic coming using the red flag. The FRSC would also sustain enforcement to make sure that those unrepentant motorists would face the wrath of the law by booking intensively and giving them robust public enlightenment,” he said.
Mr Uga stressed the need to add more bite to its operations to stem the tide of road crashes in Ogun.
He added that sensitisation programmes would be extended to churches and mosques to educate the public.
