Fire service rescues woman from Lagos chemical explosion

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has rescued a female adult from a chemical induced fire that happened in the Agege area of the state.
The Director of the fire agency, Margaret Adeseye, confirmed the development in a statement on Saturday.
She said that the incident occurred at 6:38 p. m on Friday at 291, Old Abeokuta Motor Road.
Ms Adeseye said that Agege fire and rescue crew of the agency put out the fire.
She stated, “The fire service brought the situation under control after dousing the fire from the explosion of sets of varying kegs sizes containing unknown chemicals stored in an open fenced-gated land.”
According to her, investigation into the ownership and type of chemical is ongoing,
She said, “It was discovered that heat radiation is attributed to the explosion of the chemical kept unprotected from sunlight.’’
According to her, the rescued lady is however responding to treatment from sustained first degree burns.
