FG vows to sanction producers of substandard pipes

Joseph Utsav, Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, says the federal government will sanction producers of substandard products used for water supply and irrigation.
Mr Utsav stated this on Tuesday in Kano when he visited Panar Limited, the manufacturers of pipes and fittings used for water supply.
He warned that the government would not condone those who produce gadgets that are not standard.
Mr Utsav said the government would also sanction any company that imports substandard products into the country.
“We have to take these measures to secure water supply schemes, as many of them have failed due to substandard materials,” he said.
