Family wants Toluwanisings’ burial put on hold, demands probe into singer’s death
The family of the late gospel singer, Bayonle Bolaji Olayemi, fondly called Toluwanisings, has urged the government and influential individuals to help in conducting a transparent probe into the cause of the singer’s death.
A family member, who identified himself as the late singer’s uncle, made the request during an interview with a media personality operating as Dumininu Kingdom on Monday.
“We need the help of influential people and the government to help us investigate the cause of Toluwanisings’ death because his demise was shocking to us. We want a transparent probe into his death,” the member said.
The uncle advised against burying the late singer until the investigation into the cause of his death is finalised.
“Nobody should make an attempt to bury him because his death is painful to us. The entire family has concluded that he should not be buried yet until the investigation reveals the cause of his death.
“We want his death probed to avoid recurrence. We’re the Olayemi family, and I am his uncle. Please, help us for God’s sake. We also beg the government to help us in the investigation as required by law,” he added.
According to the deceased’s uncle, the family would not mind footing the mortuary bills to ensure a transparent probe into his death.
“We don’t mind paying the mortuary money, and he should be buried in his house where his wife and children live presently after the conclusion of the investigation,” he added.
The development came days after the singer’s father, Muniru Olayemi, said Toluwanisings’ mother died six months after his birth.
Mr Olayemi, who acknowledged Toluwanisings’ role in his life, also stressed that he wanted the gospel singer buried in his house, not the cemetery, to make him happy.
The gospel singer died on October 14. While the cause of his death remained unknown, it was gathered that he slumped in his residence and was rushed to a hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
Colleagues, fans, and well-wishers expressedshock at the singer’s death, praising him for his incredible life and impact.
Days ago, his colleagues announced a night of tributes to honour him. The event is expected to feature a night of love, reflection, heartfelt tributes and thanksgiving to God for the life the deceased lived.
